Digital Basics - Understanding the basics of digital terminology, (jpeg, dpi, pixels, image size and print prospective, resolution, kilobyte, megabytes, gigabyte, formats, etc.) how to understand and use the various settings on your digital camera, uploading to kiosks/online digital printing, Facebook, Myspace etc., create photo greeting cards, photo books, photo gift items etc. from your images.

Data Backup/Memory Preservation/Sharing- (digital photos/videos etc.) - what to do after you have taken your pictures/videos with your digital camera, organizing and saving images to internal/external hard drives, USB flash drives, burning cd/dvd backups and offsite backup for your computer.

Photo/image adjustment and printing basics* - Explore the world of Photoshop** and learn how to understand, analyze and adjust image size, lighten, darken, sharpen, crop, rotate, learn to adjust images for in-home printing, kiosk/online printing, online book printing and adjustment necessary for uploading images to Facebook, Myspace and email attachments.
* Recommend taking digital basics prior to this class.

Scanning Basics*** - Learn how to scan photos, negatives, slides, books, magazines, newspapers, large format prints/artwork. etc., the use of various settings and image adjustments when scanning and which formats to use when saving scans.
*** Recommend taking digital basics and Photo Image Adjustments prior to this class.

• Photoshop - Basic to advanced techniques for adjusting/altering scanned/digital images
• Acrobat - creating, reading, editing and transferring PDF documents
• Scanning of photos, negatives, slides, books, magazines, newspapers, large format prints/artwork. etc.
• Photo restoration - techniques photo image adjustment, lighten, darken, sharpen, crop, rotate, remove red eye/date stamps, basic restoration
